Application of Polydimethylsiloxane

Cosmetic products

The combination of low application, surface tension, easy spreading, and suitable viscosity gives personal care products a lubricious, greasy feeling and makes the skin soft. With foam inhibition, defoaming, anti-foaming effect, to prevent the application of products when the "white" phenomenon. The higher the viscosity, the more oily it is, while the lower viscosity gives the skin a pleasant sensation. Because of its sedimentation properties, it is used in low amounts in cosmetic formulations. The properties of the product can be adjusted by compounding polydimethylsiloxane with different viscosity grades.

Leather products

Polydimethylsiloxane for fiber, leather: water repellent, softener, hand feel improver, defoamer for dyeing industry, lubrication of sewing threads. The emulsion can be applied to fatten leather to enhance hydrophobicity, softness and comfort. It can be used to treat leather surfaces to enhance abrasion resistance, water resistance and mold release.

Brightening agent

Polydimethylsiloxane, suitable for use as a brightening agent ingredient for automobiles, furniture, footwear, cement products, etc., including automotive brighteners, foam furniture cleaners, vinyl roof cleaners, and construction material brightening formulations, with the least amount to achieve the best results.

Mold release agent

Polydimethylsiloxane, can be used as a mold release agent for rubber or plastic products (brakes, screw heads, plugs, etc.), EVA shoe materials, used directly or diluted 10-200 times with low hardness water, the product is highly efficient, stable and extremely versatile.

Lubricants

Polydimethylsiloxane, which can be used as a lubricant in extruded rubber products such as conveyor belts. It can be used as a lubricant for the following textile processes: lubrication of knitting yarns, sewing threads, production of socks and underwear, lubrication of sewing needles, glass fiber screens.

Other fields

Polydimethylsiloxane is a food-grade defoamer, which can be used in medicine and food brewing and fermentation time to defoam. Since it is non-toxic and does not cause physiological reactions in the human body, it is also used as a medical antifoaming agent for the treatment of acute pulmonary edema and intestinal flatulence. The substance called silicones (or silicone oil) in pharmacological monographs is a general term for a class of silicone oxidation polymers. Dimethylsilicone oil is only one of them commonly used in pharmaceuticals. There are also ethyl silicone oil, methyl phenyl silicone oil, waxy silicone oil and so on. In the tablet polishing agent worm wax, a small amount of this product is often added to enhance the brightness and moisture resistance of the tablet surface. In the ointment agent, this product is a more ideal hydrophobic base because it has good lubricity, easy to spread, does not stain clothing, does not interfere with the normal function of the skin, etc.. It is often used in combination with greasy base to make protective ointment to prevent the irritation or corrosion of water-soluble substances and acid and alkali solution.
