Dimethyl Silicone Oil

In chemical structure, dimethyl silicone oil is very different from all other liquids. Organic hydrocarbon fluids are mainly carbon atoms to carbon atoms, and silane fluids are mainly silicon-oxygen bonds, which are similar to silicon-oxygen bonds in high-temperature inorganic materials such as quartz, glass and sand. This molecular backbone is much stronger than a typical carbon-to-carbon chain, and it is more resistant to extreme temperatures, oxidation, shear stress, and chemical attacks.

The chemical structure makes silicone oils have certain characteristics, which allows them to be used in applications where other fluids are not suitable. 

Some outstanding properties shared by most silicone oils are:

• Low viscosity-temperature change: All liquids show a certain degree of viscosity change with temperature changes, but silicone liquids show a smaller degree of change in a wider temperature range than non-silicone liquids.

• Wide temperature range: The low temperature limit and high temperature capability of silicone oil far exceeds that of traditional liquids

• Thermal stability: Silicone oil exhibits excellent stability when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.

• Thermal conductivity: In a wide temperature range, the thermal conductivity of silicone oil is comparable to that of hydrocarbon fluids.
