Emergency Treatment And Disposal Measures of Methyl Chlorosilane

Methyl chlorosilane is easily hydrolyzed by moisture and emits toxic and corrosive hydrogen chloride gas. It is irritating to eyes, skin and mucous membranes and can cause skin burns. So pay attention to these emergency treatment and disposal measures of methyl chlorosilane.

Leakage emergency treatment

Quickly evacuate people in the contaminated area of the leak to the upwind, and immediately isolate 150 meters and strictly limit access. Cut off the source of the fire. It is recommended that emergency response personnel wear self-contained positive pressure respirators and gas-proof clothing. Do not come into direct contact with the spill. Do not allow spill to come in contact with organic, reducing, or flammable materials. Cut off the source of the spill if possible. Ventilate reasonably to accelerate diffusion. Spray aerosol water to dilute. Leaking containers of methyl chlorosilane should be properly handled, repaired, and inspected before use.

Protective measures

Respiratory protection: When you may be exposed to toxic substances, you should wear a filtered gas mask (full face mask) or self-contained breathing apparatus.

Eye protection: Respiratory protection has been made in the protection.

Body protection: Wear anti-static work clothes.

Hand protection: Wear rubber gloves.

Other: Smoking is strictly prohibited at the worksite. After work, take a shower and change clothes. Pay attention to personal cleanliness and hygiene.

First-aid measures

Skin contact: Immediately remove contaminated clothing and rinse with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical advice.

Eye contact: Immediately lift eyelids and rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water or saline for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical advice.

INHALATION: Quickly remove from the scene to fresh air. Keep airway open. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, give immediate artificial respiration. Seek medical advice.

Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water and give milk or egg white to those who accidentally ingested. Seek medical advice.

Extinguish the fire: cut off the air source. If the gas source cannot be cut off immediately, do not allow the burning gas to be extinguished. Spray water to cool the container and move the container from the fire to an open area if possible. Extinguishing agents: dry powder, carbon dioxide, sand, and earth. Forbid the use of water jets and foam.
